JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – Car drivers must have empathy for other road users. Do not let for the sake of personal satisfaction, we neglect the safety of others.
There are many examples of cases that show the lack of empathy for car drivers. Like the installation incident horn bumpers or a bumper with sharp barbed wire, which would certainly endanger anyone who touched it.

Budiyanto, an observer of transportation and legal issues, said that the Road Traffic and Transportation Law (LLAJ) states that every motorized vehicle is prohibited from installing equipment that can interfere with traffic safety.

“In article 58 it reads that every motorized vehicle that is operated on the road is prohibited from installing equipment that can interfere with traffic safety,” said Budiyanto, to Kompas.com (9/6/2022).
In his explanation, what is meant by equipment that can interfere with traffic safety is the installation of equipment, equipment, or other objects on vehicles that can endanger traffic safety.
According to him, the installation of a bumper with sharp iron spikes, and accessory which endangers others, constitutes a traffic violation, as regulated in Article 279 which reads:

“Everyone who drives a motorized vehicle on a road that is equipped with equipment that can interfere with traffic safety as referred to in Article 58 shall be punished with imprisonment for a maximum of 2 (two) months or a fine of a maximum of Rp. 500,000.
“The officer’s action is to enforce the law with a ticket and then with the discretionary authority attached to each member,” said Budiyanto.
As regulated in Article 18 paragraph (1) of Law No. 2 of 2002 concerning the Police, for the public interest for the sake of security and safety, dangerous bumpers can be removed to be used as evidence.
“Even in my opinion, if the spiked bumper equipment causes or causes injury to other people, it can be punished with a general crime,” he said.
