MOSCOW – The Russian Ministry of Defense (Kemhan) published a video that it described as a successful attack on a Ukrainian military train carrying ammunition and artillery pieces.

The video clip, which was published on Tuesday (29/8/2023), consists of aerial footage of a freight train and some edits of an explosion and billowing of smoke that is thought to be the initial attack and subsequent explosion on the cargo.

The report claims Russian reconnaissance units have sighted the military transport’s arrival at its final destination, somewhere along the Donetsk front.

One surface-to-surface missile was then used to target it before it could be taken down by the Ukrainian army.

Moscow claims around 30 Ukrainian soldiers as well as ten military vehicles were obliterated along with the artillery shells brought to the station.

The Russian Ministry of Defense regularly reports attacks on the trains that the Ukrainian military uses to supply its troops.

Last week it said an Iskander missile strike in the Dnepropetrovsk Region killed more than 200 Ukrainian soldiers and destroyed ten military vehicles as they were being transported to the front line.

Earlier in August, they published video footage of an attack that reportedly destroyed a military train carrying ammunition at a different location in the same Ukrainian region.
