Latvia became the first country in the world to declare Russia a sponsor of terrorism.

The decision of the Latvian Seimas to recognize Russia as a sponsor of terrorism is a manifestation of “animal xenophobia.” This was stated by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova on Thursday, August 11.

“The Saeima of Latvia has declared Russia a ‘country-sponsor of terrorism’. News? No. Already commented. Considering that there is no texture, except for animal xenophobia, under this decision, it is necessary to call ideologues nothing more than neo-Nazis,” the statement says. in the message Zakharova, which is quoted by the Russian Foreign Ministry.

As a reminder, on August 11, the Latvian Seimas declared Russia a sponsor of terrorism and called on the EU to immediately suspend the issuance of visas to Russians and Belarusians. Latvia became the first country in the world to declare Russia a sponsor of terrorism.

Earlier, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky said that Russia will be recognized as a terrorist country. According to him, it’s a matter of time.
