A doctor lost Rp. 4.8 billion after buying a fake aladdin lamp.

A doctor in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, India, was tricked into buying a magic lamp that can bring out a genie and grant all kinds of requests for 335,000 US dollars (Rp. 4.8 billion).

However, the two con artists, named Islamuddin and Anees, were reported to have been arrested as reported by Oddity Central, Friday (30/10/2020).

The fraud story began when a doctor named Laeek Khan met a patient named Sameena at his home to bandage his post-surgery wound.

It was while at the patient’s house that he met Islamuddin who claimed to have magical powers.

Islamuddin then boasted that he could make Khan rich through a genie who could grant all kinds of requests that came out of Aladdin’s Lamp.

Some time later, Islamuddin introduced Khan to Anees.

Islamuddin and Anees then offered Khan an Aladdin lamp at a price of US $ 335,000 (Rp.4.8 billion).

Khan then agreed to buy it, but in installments.

The three of them made an agreement that Khan could only touch the Aladdin Lamp if the installments were paid off.

After making enough installments, Khan wanted to touch the Aladdin Lamp but was immediately rejected by Islamuddin.

Islamuddin said that touching the Aladdin Lamp before the installments were paid off would only cause bad things.

Khan repeatedly asked to touch the lamp, but Islamuddin and Anees continued to refuse him.

After continuing to be rejected, Khan finally realized that he had been tricked and went to the police.

He said that both Islamuddin and Anees sounded so convincing that he just believed it.

Islamuddin and Anees were then arrested by the police and the “magic” lamp was confiscated.

The police also tried to scrub the Aladdin Lamp and indeed no genie came out of it.

The police are now also hunting for Sameena, who turns out to be Islamuddin’s wife.
