Ron Perlman, of course, was the original Hellboy in director Guillermo del Toro’s films. For example, Perlman made his 2004 Hellboy debut and returned four years later for Hellboy II: The Golden Army. For years, fans asked for a third part, but that never happened. However, there was a reboot with David Harbor, for which Perlman was also asked.
Despite the fact that Perlman and Del Toro were both behind the reboot, they never really spoke about it in detail. However, during a recent interview, Perlman announced that he was asked for a cameo, but was not really looking forward to it.

For example, Perlman said, “I was asked for a small part in the reboot but was not interested in this. The only Hellboy version that interests me is one that Guillermo is involved with. So I decided not to do it. I wish them the best of luck and that was it. I have therefore received little of it and heard about it”.
It is not very surprising that Perlman did not go into it. The actor himself also hoped for years that a third part would come. Nevertheless, he said that it is partly due to Del Toro’s super busy schedule that the trilogy was never completed. Ultimately, Perlman will also be satisfied that he did not participate. The Hellboy reboot was a major flop, and Harbor has already said it will be just a movie.
