The EG Diez-Limburg is facing the next double match day in the Oberliga Nord: The Rockets are guests at Krefelder EV on Friday (7.30 p.m.) and receive the piranhas from Rostock on Sunday (6.30 p.m.) at Heckenweg in Diez. All fans – who are finally admitted again – get free entry to this game. This is made possible by the match day sponsor “Limburger Sicherheitstechnik”.
“Two interesting, but also difficult tasks for us,” says Rockets coach Jan Pantkowski. “We’re outsiders in both games, but like we did against Erfurt in this role, we’ll implement our game plan as best we can and try to achieve the maximum. Nevertheless, the following still applies: First of all, we look from third to third and want to fulfill our tasks there every time.”
The first two comparisons with Krefeld were won 4: 3 and 9: 2 – but at that time under different (personnel) conditions. The Rockets repositioned themselves on the two import positions during the week and signed the two forwards Jordan King (Canada) and Kevin Loppatto (USA). After the first training sessions with the team, both players will appear in Krefeld on Friday, once all the passport matters have been settled.
“We can expect and demand from the two that they find their game very quickly and thus help the team very quickly,” says Pantkowski. “That’s her role in the team.” The coach is also hoping for one or the other player who could join the team after an injury break in Hanover last Sunday. Points in Krefeld would be a real blessing for the team in the current condition, but the opponents will also do everything they can to achieve the next success.
In the game against Rostock on Sunday, the Rockets are looking forward to the return of the fans to the ice rink on Heckenweg. Finally being able to play in front of spectators again increases the anticipation for this game immensely.
