Rob and Assault Woman on Brooklyn Subway – NBC New York

NEW YORKPolice are searching for a man who allegedly attacked a woman on the train en route to a Brooklyn station last week, an attack so violent it has left the woman with “very significant hair loss.”

Police say the attack took place last Monday around 9:15 a.m. aboard a train headed for the station. East 105 Street involving a 29-year-old woman. According to the police, the woman was approached by the unknown man, who tried to strike up a conversation. She allegedly ignored him and that’s when the man forcibly took her backpack from her and grabbed it by her hair.

The suspect proceeded to punch the woman in the head several times and at one point during the attack, the suspect even lifted the left side of the woman’s shirt and pulled down the right side of her pants, according to police.

When the train pulled into the station, the man fled with the woman’s bag, which contained $700 in cash, a Samsung S10 phone and other personal items, police said.

The man wanted by police is described as being around 30 years old, 5’10” tall, 160 pounds, of medium build and wearing long black hair in a bun. Police say he was last seen wearing a gray jacket, white shirt, blue jeans and black and white tennis shoes.

Police have released a surveillance photo of the man, taken at the police station. East 105 Street (up).

The attacked woman suffered significant hair loss but refused medical attention at the scene, according to police.
