A 30-something who was driving a stolen van was seriously injured by the shooting of a policeman who was trying to arrest him this Saturday in Sevran, in Seine-Saint-Denis. The facts occurred during an intervention by the anti-crime brigade, said the Bobigny prosecution. The man was taken to hospital. His vital prognosis is engaged according to the public ministry. During the check, a policeman “had to use his weapon” and “fired once, with a bullet that hit the driver” of the stolen vehicle, explains the same source.
An investigation has been opened by the prosecution. This was entrusted to the General Inspectorate of the National Police. It will aim in particular to determine the circumstances of the control and the shooting which remain unknown at this stage.
