Rioters Schilderswijk receive area ban | Inland

The suspects have received a 90-day behavioral order from the Public Prosecution Service for a specific area. They are not allowed on the street between 6 p.m. and 6 a.m., which applies to residents of those neighborhoods as well as rioters from elsewhere.

The people arrested in the night from Thursday to Friday – mostly young people – threw stones, heavy fireworks and eggs at the police. Destruction was also done, including to two police cars. The ME had to intervene. A total of 22 suspects were arrested, one of them was ultimately unable to establish a criminal offense.

On Thursday evening, neighborhood prevention teams, youth workers, neighborhood fathers and community police officers walked through the neighborhood together to talk to residents and the youth on the street. The atmosphere was good until dozens of young people gathered around 11 p.m. and started pelting police officers. Wednesday evening and night it was already restless in the Hague district. Even then, fires were started, fire hydrants turned on and vandalism. Four people were then arrested.

Last Monday, a 19-year-old boy was stabbed to death at the Pier in Scheveningen. It may have been a conflict between rival gangs.
