“Rīgas Modes” releases a new single and video

The group “Rīgas Modes” releases the single “Dance Alone” and a video clip of the song, as well as invites to a concert in Liepaja on August 7.

“Dancing Alone” is the third single from the upcoming album “Riga Fashion”, which follows the songs “Wild Horses” a “We Drove All Night”. The band wanted to add elements of gospel music to the sound of the new single, and backing vocalists Zane Biķe, Alise Kante, Lība Ēce-Kalniņa and Guna Leščinska also take part in it.

“This was one of the first songs to be created when starting work on the new material, and we already managed to play it at summer festivals a couple of years ago. However, it took a long time in the studio and a thorough search for sounds as we approached what we really wanted to hear. We call the upcoming record our “growth album” and you could say that “Dancing Alone” has grown with it. Of course, this “growth” does not mean that we now have the answers to all the questions, but we have learned a lot. Even now, after 30 versions of the mix, it might seem that there is still something to be changed, something to improve, but it would probably end in a scandal, the band would break up, we would each start our solo careers and sue each other. That would be a huge loss for the Latvian pop scene. So to stay as it is, because it is already good. “Dancing Alone” is our ode to this summer, “the group members say.

In making the video, the group would like to thank Zane Bike, Katrīna Anna Vīgante, Dita Grauda, Kristiāna Štāla, Jānis Eglītis, LKA National Film School, video equipment company “BB Rental”, as well as stage equipment company “3s.lv”.

The next performance of “Rīgas Modes” is planned for this Friday, August 7, in Liepāja, in the club “Fontaine Palace”. The concert has a limited number of 250 spectators and tickets can still be purchased on the website “Ticketshop.lv”.

So far, “Rīgas Modes” has released two recordings – the EP named after itself, as well as the album “Fantastiski”, which received the Golden Microphone as the best pop music recording and the Austra Award, which is presented to the best domestic recording by music critics.

“Rīgas Modes” are: Kalvis Bormanis (vocals), Reinis Papulis (guitar), Anete Stuce (keyboards), Andris Apīnis (bass) and Mareks Ameriks (drums).
