Retired US General Confident Ukrainian Armed Forces Will Continue to Attack Russian Military Targets in Crimea

The retired US general is confident that the Ukrainian Armed Forces will continue to attack Russian military targets in occupied Crimea.

Former commander of NATO Ground Forces in Europe, retired US General Ben Hodges doubts that the Crimean Bridge will be able to survive 2024. The military man is confident that the Ukrainian army will continue to strike Russian military targets on the occupied peninsula, including the logistics hub in Dzhankoy, which supports the Russian group in the occupied territories of the South.

Hodges voiced this point of view on air YouTube channel Perun, run by an Australian military blogger.

“I think the Ukrainians will find a way to permanently disable this structure (Crimean Bridge – ed.)”– said the interlocutor.

In addition, the general told what weapons Ukraine needs to win a long war.

“Look, the Ukrainians do not have enough artillery and precision weapons, I think this is well known. But it’s not too late.

I believe that Russia does not have enough strength, there is no way to break through the Ukrainian defenses and move towards Kharkov and Kyiv.

The Russian logistics system is extremely fragile, it was never designed to support long-term ground operations outside of Russia, and therefore it is a weak point that Ukraine must exploit for both long-range strikes and sabotage.”– said the military man.

Earlier, Hodges said that the liberation of Crimea will become inevitable as soon as Western partners provide Ukraine with long-range weapons.

The general also noted that the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine is completely outplaying the Russians: the Ukrainian counteroffensive is not limited only to operations in the southern direction.
