Among the remaining unresolved issues is Iran’s demand that its elite units in the Armed Forces, the Revolutionary Guard Corps, be removed from the US list of terrorist organizations. Borrell pointed out that this was the point that hindered the negotiations.
EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Joseph Borrell said the mission of the European Union’s envoy, Enrique Mora, this week to revive the 2015 nuclear deal between Iran and the world’s powers was “better than expected.” Mora met with Iran’s chief negotiator, Ali Bageri, for two days in Tehran this week. Borrell said there was now a prospect of reaching an agreement.
