After a year during which many sporting and associative events were overshadowed by the health crisis, the famous race in favor of the fight against breast cancer is making a comeback this year. So we warm up and prepare our calves, because registrations are already open!
Currently in France, nearly one in eight women develops breast cancer. 59,000 new cases were detected in 2018 and more than 12,100 deaths recorded. Alarming figures, which remind us how important it is to support this cause and to be tested regularly. To get involved in this cause, Strasbourg residents are invited to participate in a race which is held during the month of Pink October.
Since its launch in 2010, the Strasbourg woman raised more than 406,472 euros for the fight against breast cancer. This year, the event organized by the Association des Courses de Strasbourg Europe (ACSE), the Strasbourg Sports Office (ODS) and in partnership with the company Lilly, will be held from October 1-3, 2021.

Four tests to choose from
Strasbourg residents have the choice between four different challenges to take up. A crossing of Strasbourg by canoe on Saturday 2 October. Two routes are offered, of 1h30 and 5km for all ages and a second of 3h and 11km duration for experienced. The price is set at 20 euros, of which 5 euros will be donated to an association.
On the same day, a Nordic walk of 6km is also organized with a departure scheduled at 11am from the Heyritz park and an arrival at the Strasbourg Eaux Vives club. Walking is accessible from 14 years old and the price is 12 euros including 5 euros donated to the fight against breast cancer.
On Sunday October 3, it will be an opportunity to put on your best running shoes for Strasbourg runners and Strasbourg runners. Two types of events are offered, a 5km walk accessible to all with a departure scheduled at 10am. As well as the famous 5km race reserved for women, the start of which is set at 9 a.m. and participants will have to present a medical certificate of less than one year to be able to participate. The start will take place at Place de l’Étoile, more precisely on the Route de Vienne at the Cité de la Musique et de la Danse.
Three challenges are also offered this year, the mother daughter duo, the solidarity team with a team of three to four people and the challenge of numbers with a group from the associations or companies category.
How to register ?
Registrations are already open and will be possible until September 30 on the internet, until September 24 by mail, but it is also possible to register in the village on Friday October 1 and Saturday October 2 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., subject to the number of bibs available.
For those who are already in the starting blocks and who want to prepare beforehand, free training sessions are available from August 30 to September 27, every Monday at 6.30 p.m., at the Parc de la Citadelle, at the entrance to the park at Boston Street.
