The Yamaha Vinales motorbike caught fire when it crashed air fence at the end of the straight.

The riders returned to the pit lane after this incident to continue with the remaining 12 laps.

Racing MotoGP Styria took place at the Red Bull Ring Circuit, Sunday (23/8/2020) evening WIB.

The course of the race:

Pol Espargaro (Red Bull KTM), who started from first place, immediately fell to fourth on the second lap.

Joan Mir (Suzuki Ecstar) got off to a good start and immediately took the lead on the second lap followed by Jack Miller (Pramac Ducati) and Taakaki Nakagami (LCR Honda).

Joan Mir, who started from number three, took the lead after crossing Turn 3.

On the second lap, the Petronas Yamaha SRT rider, Fabio Quartararo, went wide at the first corner.

The position of the four leading riders lasted until the fifth lap. Monster Energy Yamaha racer, Valentino Rossi, who started from number 14 managed to climb five places on the fifth lap.

Suzuki Ecstar racer, Joan Mir, who was still in the lead, managed to record the best lap time on lap six.

Joan Mir’s distance with Jack Miller in second is very thin, only 0.457 seconds when the race enters the seventh lap.

Last week’s 2020 Austrian MotoGP champion as well as the king of the Red Bull Ring Circuit, Andrea Dovizioso (Ducati) was still in sixth place when the race entered lap 8.

Joan Mir widened the distance with Jack Miller on lap 9 to 0.515 seconds.

The top four positions remained the same until lap 9, namely Joan Mir, Jack Miller, Taakaki Nakagami and Pol Espargaro.

Entering the 13th lap, Valentino Rossi had to drop to 11th under Fabio Quartararo.
