Ivar Tollefsen is investing heavily in real estate and on Friday afternoon Heimstaden Bostad sent one out stock exchange announcement where it appears that it has bought 4,000 apartments on 130 different properties in the center of Berlin.
Heimstaden Bostad, which Tollefsen owns together with a number of Swedish pension funds, has paid 830 million euros for the apartments. This corresponds to NOK 8.9 billion.
Tollefsen’s real estate company is already heavily exposed to the German market with 1,000 apartments. Now the presence is increasing sharply.
– We are pleased with the purchase of these attractive properties in central locations in Berlin. This makes it possible for us to scale up our presence in Germany, says Investment Director Søren Vendelbo Jacobsen in a statement.
According to the stock exchange announcement, the sale is expected to be completed in the fourth quarter of this year, or the first quarter of next year.
