The Argentine Ministry of Health announced that the death toll from Covid-19 crossed the 3,000 mark on Monday in the country, while the South American country is considering the possibility of strengthening the lockdown measures.
During the past 24 hours alone, 121 were recorded, which is the largest daily death toll in the country since the start of the outbreak, bringing the total number of deaths to 3059.
Argentina also counted 164,403 injuries, including 4,890 injuries in one day.
90 percent of the new infections are concentrated in the capital and its environs, but the health authorities announced the outbreak of the epidemic in most of the country’s provinces.
The capital region began easing quarantine measures last week, which is tentatively set to end on August 2.
