Some 1,500 of Queen singer Freddie Mercury’s memorabilia, including stage costumes, handwritten songs and works of art, will go up for auction in September, Sotheby’s announced Wednesday.
Prior to the sale, which will take place in London, the iconic pieces in this auction will go on display in New York, Los Angeles and Hong Kong in June, then in London from August 4 to September 5.

But the years have passed and the time has come to make the difficult decision to close this very special chapter of my life,” he told Sotheby’s auction house.
