Russian dictator Vladimir Putin’s main mistake regarding Ukraine is that he was out of touch with reality. Russia lost this war strategically.
This was said by Kyrylo Budanov, head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, in an interview with “Krym.Realii”.
Budanov added that as a result of a full-scale invasion, Russia faced many serious problems, including becoming a diplomatic exile.
Russian authorities expected to take over Ukraine in a few days, but met strong resistance. Russia suffered huge losses on Ukrainian soil. To date, according to Kiev, Russia has lost over 260,000 soldiers in Ukraine.
According to sources close to the Kremlin, at the beginning of the war and then during its course, those close to Putin refused to give him the real picture of what was happening. Putin was often kept in the dark about bad news because his cronies were afraid to tell him.
