Premiere of “The House Where Men Are Not Allowed” with all-female cast and director in Liepāja Theater

The dramatization of the play was created by the director himself. The production, to which he gave the genre designation – gentle irony about women in two parts – will have its premiere on March 16.

Karina Lamber turned to writing 10 years ago. “The House Where Men Are Not Allowed” is her first novel, which won the best debut book award in Belgium.

The characters in her books are ordinary people who are surprised by an unusual event that forces them to receive and tests their ability to reinvent themselves.

This is the story of the house where the Queen lives. And every woman who needs it is welcome to stay in this house. With only one rule – men are not allowed to enter this house.

So they live there – Simona, Rosalia and Giuseppina – and each of them has their own reason for being there.

Life goes on as usual until Juliet arrives, forcing each of the women to ask themselves the question – is life without love possible?

Anete Berķe, Everita Pjata-Gertner, Kintija Stūre, Edgars Ozoliņš, Rolands Beķeris take part in the show, Inga Alsiņa-Lasmane also joined the actors of the Liepāja Theater in this production.

Assistant director and choreographer Linda Kalniņa, scenographer Mārtiņš Vilkārsis, costume designer Ilze Vītoliņa and lighting designer Mārtiņš Feldmanis also work in the creative team of the production.
