A Premier League player has been arrested on suspicion of sexual offenses against children, writes The Mirror.
According to the newspaper, the national team-qualified person in question has been suspended from his club pending a police investigation.
Serious suspicions are directed at one Premier Leagueplayer, writes The Mirror.
According to the newspaper, a player in the league, with national team merits, has had his home searched for suspicions of sexual offenses against a child.
The player was then, on Friday, arrested. The person in question has since been released on bail pending investigation.
This is confirmed by the local police.
“A big shock”
For the newspaper, the player’s club also confirms that the person in question has been suspended.
“The club will continue to cooperate with authorities during their investigations and will not comment further on the matter for now.”, the Premier League club announces.
“This comes as a big shock. All suspicions and accusations of crimes against a child must be taken very seriously “, a source within the club told The Mirror.
The club will now await the following police investigations before proceeding with the matter.
