Especially in times of corona, pregnancy can raise many questions. Not everything always runs smoothly. Existential questions, illnesses, fears or just the application jumble – what do I have to do when and what suits me – can be a burden.
It can therefore be a relief for many women to get in touch and get help early. The Lohrer Auenstelle of the Catholic Advice Center for pregnancy questions of the Dizese Wrzburg writes in a press release. The floodplain is responsible for the entire district of Main-Spessart and is available to advise women and families on the subject of pregnancy, childbirth and life with a child. The loss of a child or the desire to have children can also be an issue.
Life and counseling continue during this time
“This offer has also been used intensively by women and men over the past few weeks,” writes Gabriele Hautsch-Langanki, head of the Lohr site. If, after the lockdown, personal visits to the on-site advice center gradually returned, information, advice and support was provided by telephone, online and by post as required. Intensive support and counseling contacts were made, which showed: “Proximity is not a question of distance”. This saying was therefore printed on postcards, which indicate at a glance the online counseling provided by the Catholic counseling center for pregnancy issues. A second card shows that there are many ways to get in touch.
Since 2004, the Catholic Advice Center for Maternity Matters has been working, for example, with an online offer in chat and mail advice in a protected nationwide portal. Consulting can take place in different forms of contact as required. With the changed situation, personal conversations are slowly being requested again.
