The attackers’ apologies do not absolve them of responsibility, but the court may take into account remorse and material compensation for the costs of treating a journalist by the attackers.
Kiev police reported suspicion to two persons who yesterday attacked a photojournalist for the Internet publication Bukva during a rally near the President’s Office on Bankova Street.
The attackers face up to five years in prison, according to the press service of the Kiev police.
“The police filed petitions with the court to choose preventive measures. For their actions, the defendants face up to five years in prison,” the press service notes.
The police are now working to establish the role of other actors in the commission of the offense.
