The shooting occurred at about 3:30 p.m. in the area of 90-65 161 Street, in the Jamaican neighborhood.
The uniformed man was transported to the Jamaica hospital and according to sources he is expected to survive.
One person has been arrested in connection and authorities are looking for another person of interest, according to sources.
Authorities ask to avoid the area of 161st street between the 90th Avenue y Jamaica Avenue due to the large presence of emergency vehicles.
