The Antwerp police have started an investigation into a possible kidnapping attempt in Deurne. There, strangers allegedly tried to kidnap a 13-year-old girl on Friday evening.

The facts took place around 8:15 pm. In the Alfons Schneiderlaan in Deurne, a 13-year-old girl was taken on the street and dragged into a white van. The two men ran off with the girl, but released her a little later. According to a message on social media, which is heavily shared to warn local residents, it was because of the girl’s persistent screaming, stamping and shouting.
The Antwerp police confirm that the facts were reported on Friday evening. “We are conducting a thorough investigation into the nature of the facts,” says police spokesman Sven Lommaert. To this end, the available camera images from the neighborhood will be investigated. No suspects have been arrested yet.
