Fløya- Alta 1-4 (0-0)
Alta dominated as expected in the away match against the bottom team Fløya on Sunday night, but it took time to crack the code for victorious Alta boys.
They had countless corners and chances before the break, but it was a lot halfway. Svein-Ove Thomassen was creative and good on the left wing, and it should turn out that the ball artist would be important throughout the match.
The home team fought for the first goal after 53 minutes. Mathias Warvik was given a chance to change things around. The scare shot woke Alta.
Just a few minutes later, Morten Gamst Pedersen equalized to 1-1 with a cash penalty kick, after Håvard Nome was fouled. The rest of the turnaround operation was signed by the duo Gamst Pedersen and Svein-Ove Thomassen. First on a header after a corner, then after a free kick when Thomassen increased to 3-1 from close range.
In overtime, Magnus Nikolaisen was able to put the finishing touches on the work alone with the goalkeeper, after a beautiful play by Hans Norbye.
Alta IF thus gets stuck in the top match and has no intentions of dropping Fredrikstad further ahead of them in the table. They won 5-0 over Senja today.
– We were not happy with what was achieved before the break. The boys were indecisive, slow and imprecise. We did not get it to vote. But after a serious chat in the locker room during the break, I think we managed to adjust. Fløya scored first, but we got a quick equalizer and then the 2-1 score. It is gratifying that the boys responded so well when we ended up below. I think we played far better and had good control the last 35 minutes, Alta IF’s assistant coach Andreas Markussen told A-sporten right after the match.
Next weekend it is ready for the top match in Finnmarkshallen. Then table trees Kvik Halden come to visit. Only one point separates these two teams when seven league rounds have been completed.
