Lucknow: Police beat Muslim voters who came to vote in Uttar Pradesh, where the third phase of Lok Sabha polls was held. The national media reported that the police did not allow them to vote.

Muslim voters in UP’s Sambhal district were beaten up by the police for not voting. Photos of the incident have been widely circulated on social media. Even the women and children were not protected by the police.

The police unleashed violence in booths 181, 182, 183 and 184 of the Sambhal Lok Sabha Assembly. Voters said they were not allowed to vote and were robbed by the police of their Aadhaar card.

Footage of an argument between a Samajwadi candidate in UP and the police has also surfaced. But the police said that the voting went smoothly.

The UP police have mentioned in their X-count that 50 people were arrested in Sambhal while they were voting fraudulently. “The police arrested more than 50 people while casting fake votes in Sambhal district. Necessary legal action will be taken after investigation. “The polling is going on peacefully and smoothly,” UP police said in X.
