1. Two injured in accident – B 8/Maintal

(lei) Two slightly injured people and around 40,000 euros in property damage: This was the result of a traffic accident that occurred on Monday afternoon on the federal highway 8 between Maintal and Frankfurt am Main. At around 3:45 p.m., a 26-year-old Mercedes driver was driving in the direction of the Main metropolis when, in a long left-hand bend, he veered off the road to the right for reasons that are still unclear and touched the crash barrier. The counter-steering put the C-Class in the left lane, causing the car to collide with the B-Class of a 47-year-old Frankfurter driving in the same direction. Both drivers then lost control and collided several times with the guardrails – ultimately the C-Class (damage around 10,000 euros) came to a standstill in the middle of the lane, the B-Class (damage around 30,000 euros) about 50 meters further on the edge of the lane. The 26-year-old from Erlensee and the 40-year-old passenger in the B-Class suffered minor injuries and had to go to the hospital. After both vehicles were towed away and the roadway cleaned, the road closure was lifted around 5:30 p.m. By calling 06181 4302-0, the police in Maintal are now asking for witnesses who can provide information about the course of the accident.

2. Apple trees set on fire: who can give clues? – Main Valley/Hochstadt

(lei) Three burning apple trees in an open field called the police and the fire brigade to the scene on Monday evening. At around 7.10 p.m., unknown persons had apparently intentionally set fire to the three plants standing next to each other in the extension of Weinbergstraße, as three sources of fire were found. A tree even had to be cut down by the fire brigade in the course of extinguishing the fire; the damage amounts to about 300 euros. The police in Maintal have now initiated investigations into property damage and are looking for witnesses. Anyone who has observed suspicious people in this context is asked to contact the officials on 06181 4302-0.

3. False alarm: TV triggers police action – Maintal/Dörnigheim

(lei) “I hear noises in the house. I think someone is about to break into my house!” – With these words, a young man from Robert-Koch-Straße reported to the police emergency call late Monday evening and asked for the officials’ help. Several patrol cars then rushed to the address, assuming it was a real case. Shortly before their arrival, however, the all-clear was given: no burglary! Rather, it turned out that the trigger for the call was not an intruder, but a television in the living room, which appeared to have switched on automatically and was making a worrying background noise. As quickly as the operation began, it ended just as quickly. Conclusion of the officials: cinematic beginning with a happy ending!

4. Parking bump: where, when and by whom was the accident caused? – Erlensee

(lei) Three customer parking lots of shopping malls are possible scenes of a hit-and-run accident, which the police in Hanau are currently dealing with. When looking for the culprit, the officials must first find out where the whole thing took place in the first place. A 59-year-old from Erlensee went shopping with his gray Hyundai on Friday from 5 p.m. to 7:45 p.m. He parked his car with an MKK number plate in a parking lot at Dieselstraße 3, then “Auf dem Hessel 16” and finally “Auf der Beune 5”. When he returned to the car at the latter location, he noticed several scratches and scratches on the right side of the rear of the vehicle (damage around 800 euros). Due to the color of the foreign paint that was found on the i30, the officials assume that the polluter may have been a blue vehicle. Witnesses should contact the Hanau II police station on 06181 9010-0.

5. 36-year-old cyclist injured – Gründau/Lieblos

(lei) A 36-year-old cyclist suffered minor injuries in a traffic accident on Sunday afternoon on Büdinger Straße. The Gründauer was on his trekking bike coming from Leipziger Straße in the direction of Gelnhäuser Straße at around 2.10 p.m. when an 80-year-old polo driver hit him at number 11, probably out of carelessness. The cyclist fell and suffered bruises and abrasions. The VW of the senior, who also comes from Gründau, suffered property damage of around 800 euros.
