Plérin: 200 schoolchildren will pass their cycling license – Plérin

On June 8, eight pupils from Plérin – one per class of CM1-CM2 involved in the road education training system provided by municipal and national police officers – will represent the municipality at the Departmental Road Safety Challenge in Pordic. What will they be? This will be determined by the tests which have started, on the dedicated track, within the Espace Corsaires.

Daily habits

After theoretical training in the classroom (elements of bicycle safety, basic rules of the highway code), the children are indeed required to submit to a maneuverability test and a course reproducing urban traffic conditions, without forgetting written knowledge tests.

“Most obtain a mark clearly above the average, allowing them to obtain the Aper (certificate of first road education)”, remarks Brigadier Richard Le Carré. Either way, the contract will be fulfilled: “Our goal is to enable children to acquire habits that will be useful to them on a daily basis,” insists Tracy Joubin, security assistant.
