A man opened fire on a moving subway car in New York on Sunday, killing another with a shot to the chest, authorities said. No one else was hurt.
The assailant is on the run.
The incident occurred shortly before noon on a Q route train entering Manhattan’s Canal Street station, police said. The victim died at the hospital.
In recent times crime has increased on the New York subway, which has alarmed the city’s residents. Last month a man detonated smoke grenades and shot 10 people.
