QUEBEC | A three-story residential building was engulfed in flames late Saturday evening in Quebec City.
The fire was declared around 10:16 p.m. in an old building on Scott Street in downtown Quebec City.

Flames of more than 60 cm were escaping from the roof of the building, said the Fire Protection Service of Quebec City.
When the firefighters arrived, residents alerted by a working smoke alarm were already outside. The adjoining buildings were also evacuated.

Faced with the risk of the fire spreading, a 3e alarm was requested for additional staff.
After two long hours, the 50 firefighters mobilized were able to control the fire.

No inconvenient injuries were recorded in this fire, according to the Quebec City Police Service (SPVQ).
A team from the Fire Department was on the scene to determine the cause and origin of the fire.
