A shopping “paradise” or “Via Jurmala Outlet Village” has now been built between Riga and Jurmala. The origins of the project can be traced back to 2015, and today the outlet town is open.

The solemn event was entrusted to the singer Markum Riva, while the mayor of Babīte Aivars Osītis and the project developer, a member of the board of the company “Outletico” Andrejs Dozorcevs, took part in cutting the tape.

Among the participants were many faces known at home – Mrs. Lilita, former President Valdis Zatlers, chef Mārtiņš Rītiņš and many others, but the largest flow of visitors came from ordinary buyers from near and far – Delfi reporter Edgars Bāliņš said live from the village at least nine different languages, but only a few have spoken Latvian.
