Saint-Avold and surroundings | Security. Gendarmerie controls: eleven infractions noted in two hours

A vast operation was organized Friday evening on the whole of the Moselle. The community of Boulay brigades had for its part deployed around thirty personnel, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., in several points of the department. Bouzonville, Freistroff, Merten, Carling, Creutzwald and Zimming were particularly concerned. Many motorists have been arrested as part of this strengthening of border controls in the fight against terrorism. “We carried out flow checks, but also road checks and certificates,” said Aurore Rigail, commander of the Boulay company. And that turned out to be quite productive. “

Certificates, alcohol and narcotics

Eleven infractions were noted in the space of two hours, including two related to non-compliance with containment and five for lack of insurance or technical control. Two motorists were also fined for driving under the influence of an alcoholic state. One of them with immediate license withdrawal. Two others also had their licenses blown away, this time for driving under narcotics.

Reinforcement of the Polizei

“The proof that confinement is not taken seriously by some”, deplores Aurore Rigail. For this operation, the brigade community benefited from the reinforcement of the Franco-German operational unit: “Activated about a week ago, it is made up of soldiers from the gendarmerie. They provide assistance in cooperation with the German police. The gendarmes benefited from air support but also from the reinforcement of the Polizei, during checks at Merten and Creutzwald, and that of the mobile gendarmerie of the Thionville squadron.

A large-scale operation that will be carried out regularly, day and night. “Our presence will be reinforced in the territory, in particular on border control, but not only”, warns Aurore Rigail.
