During the Covid-19 pandemic in Latvia, there must be a smart balance between health security and the economy, said Aigars Rostovskis, President of the Latvian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI), in an interview with the Latvian Television program “Morning Panorama”.

According to him, all possible tools should be used to reduce the time people have to spend in self-isolation after returning from abroad. For example, you could test upon arrival. Rostovsky said that he is not an expert in health security, but, in his opinion, it is possible to find a balance.

He stressed that people do not go on business trips abroad due to the pending self-isolation, and thus the business is slowed down. Rostovsky pointed out that there are risks to the economic slowdown, so we must also try to preserve the economy.

In particular, Rostovsky emphasized the need to preserve the so-called bubble of the Baltic and Finnish economies.
