“Satisfaction for the precious activity carried out in many years of competent and loving dedication in research, in formation as well as in the care of the sick” was expressed by the Pontiff, who in the official document also expressed “appreciation for the generous and assiduous work lavished on ‘current health emergency “.

The words of Pope Francis were read by the rector at the opening of the celebrations, while then it was the turn of the message sent by the Minister of Health Roberto Speranza, visiting Umbria just two days ago: “Seven hundred years – writes the minister – are the testimony of a long and lasting commitment, which establishes an absolute right, that of health, which must be reaffirmed in days of pandemic. Today is therefore not only the celebration of an institution but the testimony of the values ​​it represents “.

Also present at the ceremony were the president of the Umbria Region Donatella Tesei, the mayor of Perugia Andrea Romizi, the prefect of Perugia Armando Gradone, the new director of the Department of Medicine and Surgery Vincenzo Nicola Talesa and the president of the Student Council Gianluca Menichelli.
