A stabbing took place on Anspachlaan in Brussels on Wednesday evening. One person suffered life-threatening injuries. About two hours later, shortly after 8 p.m., a second stabbing took place, resulting in a minor injury. It is not clear whether there is a connection between the two facts.

“Our services received a call around 6 p.m. about an attack with a knife on Anspachlaan in Brussels,” says police spokesperson Ilse Van de Keerse. “Several teams were immediately sent to the scene, where our patrollers found an injured person. They provided initial medical care until the arrival of the MUG, after which the victim was taken to hospital. The prognosis is life-threatening.”
“According to reports, several suspects were involved,” the spokesperson continued. “They fled before our arrival. A perimeter has been established and the investigation is ongoing.”
About two hours later, at 8:10 p.m., the police received a call for a fight on the Brandhoutkaai, according to police spokesperson Van de Keerse: “Our people found a slightly injured person at the scene. Emergency services immediately arrived on scene to treat the victim and a perimeter was set up. One suspect could be arrested, but the investigation is ongoing to determine the correct circumstances of the facts.”
