Mayor Nákla nominated by the Mayors and the Independents defeated the mayor of Medlov and the deputy governor of Olomouc Jan Zahradníček in the second round of the senate elections.
Marek Ošťádal received 69 percent of the vote, his challenger 31 percent. Turnout exceeded eighteen percent.
