Pecco Bagnaia limps, beat Rossi, then climbs the podium

Misano

Francesco ‘Pecco’ Bagnaia look amazing at MotoGP San Marino. In an unfit leg condition, Bagnaia beat Valentino Rossi to get on the podium. Wow!

Bagnaia which strengthens Pramac Ducati undergo a race MotoGP 2020 at the Misano Marco Simoncelli World Circuit, Sunday (13/9/2020) evening WIB, with conditions not 100 percent fit.

Because, Bagnaia has just undergone surgery for a broken leg after an accident at the Czech Republic MotoGP. The incident made him miss two races, Austria and Styria.

Even when he was allowed to race again last weekend, Bagnaia still had to hobble on crutches. He had uploaded a photo on his Instagram account, using crutches at the circuit arena three days before the race.

Well, Bagnaia finally kept going and then got started in sixth position in the qualifying session. This start was better than Andrea Dovizioso who only started in ninth position.

Even though he was racing in an unfit condition, Bagnaia instead appeared fierce on the track. Slowly but surely, Bagnaia overtook his rivals before facing off against his teacher and compatriot Valentino Rossi.

At that time Bagnaia was in third position and was able to overtake Rossi on lap 21, before finally finishing as runner-up. A really crazy race for Bagnaia.

For Francesco Bagnaia, the first podium in his career will certainly not be forgotten. Moreover, he got it with great difficulty, because he was still recovering from a fracture and beat Rossi.

“I just thought about the podium after overtaking Valentino Rossi. In the morning warm-up session, I was surprised when I knew how fast I was, I used to struggle in this session. I began to believe I could perform well in the race and be in front,” said Bagnaia as quoted by AFP. GPOne.

“When I realized my leg was fine, I started to try harder and I still felt the same sensation as at Jerez, it’s easier than I thought. Last week, I didn’t think I could get the podium,” he continued.

Now Francesco Bagnaia still have to fight hard to be able to appear consistent in the rest of the 2020 MotoGP season. Because, Bagnaia is currently in 14th place in the MotoGP standings with 29 points.
