The situation occurred last night in General Arriagada with Santa Raquel, when the police were conducting proceedings for a portonazo happened yesterday afternoon in the commune.
As the three officials searched for a stolen high-end car, they encountered individuals who, seeing the police presence, shot with automatic weapons.
Dozens of shots were fired at the vehicle where the IDPs were traveling, injuring a police assistant and a deputy inspector. The third officer was shot in the chest, but his bulletproof vest saved him.
The wounded were transferred to the Carabineros Hospital, where they recover out of life risk.
