The parents of Jean Jaurès school students at Anglet have decided to mobilize this Friday, December 17, 2021 to denounce the replacement for the last day before Christmas vacation for the French teacher for the two bilingual classes.
“We are very disappointed and angry!”
Four changes of teachers last year
The nursery school currently accommodates four classes: two monolingual classes and two bilingual classes (Ikas-Bi). Last year, the French teacher was replaced following maternity leave. Four teachers followed one another during the school year.
“Last year we discovered the same day the arrival of a new teacher.”
New replacement, the anger of the parents of students!
For the start of the 2021 school year, a new full-time teacher had been put in place. Until December, she replaced a colleague on maternity leave.
“This teacher had a great integration and set up an educational project in collaboration with the teacher of Basque” explains Amandine Baudon. At the end of the year 2021, Thursday, December 16, the inspectorate was contacted to know the future of the teacher (return or not of the teacher on maternity leave) and the parents of students learned that a contractual would replace the teacher in post since the start of the school year from this Friday, December 17, 2021.
“We are angry, we do not understand this decision. The teacher in place since the start of the school year had set up a real educational follow-up and could continue in this position”
Parents do not want to start over like last year, they want a sustainability of educational monitoring for the sake of the children. “Following the closure of schools, the health situation, Covid cases are already very complicated for a child between 3 and 6 years old. We are afraid for the future! »Says Amandine Baudon.
Parents are now waiting for answers. They wrote to the inspector of the Academy of Pyrenees-Atlantiques, François-Xavier Pestel, this Friday, December 17 for explanations. A new gathering is planned for the return of the Christmas holidays, Monday January 3, 2022.
