Payroll for management positions in the Ministry of Interior. According to DNA, a former head of the Police Academy has admitted to paying bribes instead of his son

The information appears in the ordinance of the DNA prosecutors regarding the criminal investigation started on the name of the chief commissioner Marian Iorga, former commander of IJP Prahova and IJP Călăraşi, quoted by ziarulincomod.ro.

According to the quoted source, the main inspector Mihai Andrei Manta, the chief commissioner Ioan Ionuţ Cătălin and the deputy commissioner Bogdan Dobre would have offered to the chief inspector Marian Iorga the amount of 50,000 lei to be appointed to management positions.

„MANTA ANDREI MIHAI, moved from the General Directorate of Police of Bucharest Municipality (DGPMB) on 01.08.2016, and, since 01.12.2016, he is the head of the Weapons, Explosives and Dangerous Substances Service; IOAN IONUŢ CĂTĂLIN, moved from DGPMB on 10.03.2016, and, since 09.09.2016, head of the Economic Crime Investigation Service (SICE); DOBRE BOGDAN, moved from the Gendarme Inspectorate of Călăraşi County on 15.05.2016, to the position of specialist officer 1 at the Public Order Service, and authorized head of the Detention and Preventive Arrest Center office). In support of this information, the so-called MANTA EMIL (father of the main inspector MANTA ANDREI MIHAI, colonel in reserve, former director for logistics at the “Vasile Lascăr” Câmpina School of Agents and the “Al. I. Cuza” Police Academy), would have recognized in during a discussion held at a hunting party that the part of this amount, related to his son, he would have paid ”, it is shown in the ordinance of the prosecutors.

According to the indictment of DNA, the chief commissioner IOAN IONUŢ CĂTĂLIN, from DGPMB, he failed to promote the contest in a first phase, for which he filed an appeal. He failed to pass even on the second attempt, but filed an appeal.

“Following this, the chairman of the appeals commission, chief inspector IORGA MARIAN, and chief commissioner BUCUR MARIAN from IGPR – Directorate of Economic Crime Investigation (DICE), member of the commission, gave the officer a promotion grade, raising the initial grade by more than one point (Chief Commissioner BUCUR MARIAN would have explained that “the answers offered by the candidate were not very well understood, being interpreted too theoretically, from the perspective of criminal investigations”). In addition to the two, the chief commissioner Anton Mone, the head of the Special Actions Service, was part of the commission for resolving the appeal “, according to the prosecutors’ ordinance.

The information is verified by DNA in a criminal investigation targeting the former commander of the Prahova Police and the Calarasi Police. Chief Commissioner Marian Iorga was placed under judicial control and detached from the management position at the School of Police Agents from Câmpina, being made available to the Ministry of Interior.
