Ukrainian singer and composer Pavel Zibrov said that his father was sentenced to 10 years in prison, but his mother waited for her beloved, and they got married.
People’s Artist of Ukraine Pavel Zibrov shared an interesting episode from the life of his parents. It turns out that his father was sentenced to 10 years in prison (but served a little less), and his mother had been waiting for her lover all these years.
In a long interview with Dmitry Gordon, the singer toldthat his dad went to prison for unwittingly becoming an accomplice to theft.
In 1946 or 1947, the artist’s parents decided to get married and his father decided to go to his parents in Bulgaria for a blessing, at the same time see his brothers and inform everyone that he was going to stay in Ukraine. But in the end he was sent to prison.
“The story was very simple. His neighbor asked to be on duty at the mill. Two thieves passed by, who stole a cow and asked his father to divide it near the mill so as not to drive it further, and promised him a piece of meat for this. He allowed it. They cut it and they had just fried a piece when the police arrived. Those (thieves – ed.) were given 25 years, and my father – 10 for allowing it. But he served a little less time,” – said Zibrov.
At the same time, the artist’s mother Anna Kirillovna, who worked as a teacher in the Rivne region, waited for her beloved all these years. In the summer of 1953, he was released from the camps, he went to his beloved, and they got married. In 1954, Pavel’s older brother was born into the family, and in 1957 he was born.
“Mom got married late. And she gave birth to me at 37 years old. That is, I am a late child. This is the story – simple and stupid. It so happened that dad became an accomplice to theft and served time for it,” – the artist summed up.
