Passenger sends Southwest employee to hospital before flight to NYC takes off – Telemundo 62

A woman was arrested after allegedly assaulting a Southwest Airlines employee who ended up hospitalized Saturday after the Dallas Love Field clash, authorities said.

A female passenger “verbally and physically assaulted” a Southwest Airlines employee during the boarding process of a flight from Dallas to New York’s LaGuardia Airport, an airline spokesman said.

Dallas Police said the passenger, Arielle Jean Jackson, 32, boarded and had a “verbal altercation” with a flight attendant in the back of the plane.

Jackson then went to the front of the plane, where he confronted a second employee, whom he struck “with a closed fist on the head,” police said.

Dallas Police said the employee was taken to a hospital in stable condition, while Jackson was charged with aggravated battery.

Southwest Airlines maintains a zero tolerance policy regarding any type of harassment or assault and we fully support our employee as we cooperate with local authorities regarding this unacceptable incident, “the airline said in a written statement.

The reason for the altercation was not disclosed.
