Although it may not look like this at first listen, all 15 songs form a clear, unified whole, which under the surface of the acoustic guitar tells the strong story of the singer’s life story and offers, as is customary with Jarek, hope for the future (Good Pigeons).

Amor Chodúr

Singer, songwriter, lyricist and musician Martin Chodúr presents a new music video for the single Amor. This is the first song from the upcoming album A Thousand and One Nights, the release of which is planned for the first half of next year. The singer wrote the lyrics and music for the song, and in addition to singing, he also plays the saxophone, guitar and synthesizers. Other instruments were provided by his accompanying band MACH.

“I have a great weakness for the traditional Surf-Rock of the 50s – 60s. Bands like The Shadows or Dick Dale & His Del-Tones have always inspired me a lot. I even bought a Fender Jaguar guitar, which a lot of these players just played and which has a really iconic sound. For fun, I started recording a musical idea originally called “The Shadows” and it was from this idea that the song Amor was gradually created. To make it sound modern, I added a lot of pulsating synthesizers that created a quite original sound, ”says Martin Chodúr about the music.

The song Amor plays with the theme of love in an unconventional way. “Cupid is the Roman god of love who wears a bow and arrow, whose wounds awaken love or passion in his sacrifices. It often happens that love comes at an inopportune time or ignites between the wrong people (remember Romeo and Julia). There are a lot of people who are afraid that love will rather cause them problems. I imagined Cupid as a dreaded desperado who shoots from the side and has no mercy on anyone, ”adds Martin Chodúr.

The song is accompanied by a video clip, which was shot in the western town of Boskovice in South Moravia.

“When I first listened to the song Amor, the mood of the song immediately took me to the Wild West and led me to the idea of ​​arranging the clip in a western style. In part, it is also a tribute to the Czech film classic Lemonade Joe. I liked the idea of ​​Amora as a negative character and I think that the actor Jiří Maria Sieber played this role perfectly “, explains the director Michael Mališ, who is behind the script and the subject of the video clip.
