There is a new cluster within the Medicine Department of the “Renzetti” hospital in Lanciano (Ch). Where, in the last year, emergency situations have been recorded several times, with various coronavirus outbreaks.
In the ward, in the last 48 hours, there have been about ten deaths, on which investigations are underway. Swabs were carried out on the bodies to understand if the patients, in addition to suffering from the serious diseases for which they had been hospitalized, also contracted the coronavirus. And the results of a first part of the tests speak of four deaths with Covid-19 – not for Covid – and of two other positive patients, one of which was transferred to Atessa (Ch). They were certainly all negative at the time of admission. The first victim was AC, an 87 year old from Lanciano.

“Within the” Renzetti “- says Francesco Taglieri, vice president of the Regional Health Commission – there is a clear violation of the procedures for managing patients with Covid-19 and other concomitant pathologies: according to the ASL Diciplinary, patients they should be moved as little as possible and any visits and instrumental examinations – x-rays, ultrasound scans, etc. – should be done at the patient’s bed. Given what is happening, it is evident that something is not working.
