Even now the general public is starting to get vaccinated.

Then what about children who are also vulnerable to Covid-19?

PT Bio Farma as a state-owned pharmaceutical company that produces the Covid-19 vaccine from the Sinovac bulk vaccine is now waiting for BPOM approval.

Spokesperson for the Covid-19 Vaccination Bio Farma Bambang Heriyanto said that for the use of vaccines in children, registration is still in the process.

“Registration of variations of use for children is still in process, for approval it is still waiting from BPOM,” said Bambang, when confirmed Tribunnews.com, Monday (28/6/2021).

Previously, a letter of approval was circulated from the Food and Drug Supervisory Agency (BPOM) regarding vaccination of children for the age range 12 to 17 years with the use of a vaccine produced by PT Bio Farma from the ‘bulk’ Sinovac vaccine.

In the letter, there are several things that are considered to give consent to the use of vaccines at the age of 12 to 17 years.

“From the safety data of phase I and phase II clinical trials, the profile of systemic AE in the form of fever in the population of 12-17 years was not reported compared to the age of 3-5 years and 6-11 years,” reads one of the points of consideration in the recommendation letter received by Tribunnews. , Sunday (27/6/2021).
