Oops! Security Update on Samsung Galaxy S8 Series Stopped

Suara.com – Samsung officially stops software updates for devices Galaxy S8 and the Galaxy S8 +, according to reports Sammobile, Wednesday (5/5/2021).

Two cellphones that have been present for the past four years are no longer on the list of Samsung devices that have received security updates.

The two previous phones were always included in the quarterly update schedule issued by Samsung over the past year.

It’s no surprise that the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 + have been around since April 2017.

Both smartphones were originally launched with the Android 7.0 Nougat operating system. Since then, these two phones have received two Android OS updates.

The Android 8.0 operating system for Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 + was released in February 2018, while the Android 9.0 OS update along with One UI were given in February 2019.

However, there are still other Galaxy 8 series that still get software updates from Samsung, namely the Galaxy S8 Active and Galaxy S8 Lite or Galaxy S8 Light Luxury.

Unfortunately, their launch is only a few months apart from the Galaxy S8 and S8 +, which means that Samsung will also stop cell phone software updates soon.

Samsung usually only releases two Android OS updates, especially for flagship smartphones.
