Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – Currently, used car dealers avoid selling cars that are included in the PPnBM discount policy. The discount, which is given in stages, will take effect from the beginning of March 2021.
There are at least 29 types of cars that have been hit by this relaxation, such as the Toyota Avanza, Daihatsu Xenia to Fortuner. This is what makes used car dealers begin to be careful about ‘lifting’ or buying a car that is subject to the tax discount.
Yudy Budiman, for example, has his own strategy, which is to avoid selling cars that are exposed to relaxation.
“We are reducing the segment because it is rather sensitive (price),” he told CNBC Indonesia.
As a consequence, the price of used cars of the 29 models was also affected. This must be faced by traders, including the fate of consumers who sell used cars.
“In my opinion, it is ambiguous, what the government aims to support from the tax discount, because with this information, even 1,500cc is already running, which has caused confusion in terms of used car prices,” he explained.
People who owned cars and bought them before the tax relaxation policies emerged were also affected. This is because the selling price of the car is cheaper than the usual market price.
“But it wasn’t just us who had stocks that went down, but people who wanted to sell also fell,” he explained.
