A period of big changes per OnePlus, the Chinese company that for at least 7 years represents a Valid alternative in the smartphone world. It looks like one of his co-founders have left the company.
Let’s talk about Carl Pei, the figure that in recent years has always been to the center of the official OnePlus announcements, especially since the other co-founder Pete Lau he stepped out of the OnePlus scene to follow the development of shared products between OPPO, Realme and OnePlus itself. Carl Pei would have definitely left OnePlus: this is what leaked from a company document that emerged on Reddit, where it is reported that the Nord product series will be taken over by Emily Dai, previously assigned to the Indian branch of OnePlus.
The change at the helm of the North series would make up for the departure of Carl Pei. The same is suggested by TechCrunch, according to which Carl Pei would have left OnePlus for start a new adventure, probably in the tech field. Pei would in fact already be in contact with some investors for raising capital. Someone also wondered if Pei wasn’t leaving for work at Samsung, apparently it will not.
Android Central, Android Police e TechCrunch they asked OnePlus to to comment the story but the company did not answer in any way. Currently it appears that the role of CEO will be filled by Pete Lau, but this seems like a solution temporary. We will keep you updated on upcoming developments.

After the different rumors leaked online, Carl Pei confirmed officially the final farewell to OnePlus. Through a post on the company forum that has founded and led for 7 years, Pei announced his farewell. In his words we find gratitude e pride where OnePlus has arrived but no mention of the reasons that led it to farewell and on its future plans.
Some rumors surfaced online would point to disagreements with Pete Lau, the other co-founder of OnePlus, who became unsustainable after the launch of OnePlus North Clearly remain alone speculations. Certainly remains the excellent work done by Carl Pei, who has contributed in a fundamental way to growth from (almost) zero of a company that is now at the top of the Android smartphone market and beyond.
