A one year old baby passed away this Sunday in New York in a shooting registered in the neighborhood of Brooklyn, confirmed this Monday the mayor of the city, Bill de Blasio, who kept a moment of silence for the victim.
The baby, identified as Davell Gardner, was shot dead by a man at a group of people who were celebrating a cookout. Three people who were hospitalized were also injured in the incident.
According to police statistics, a total of 39 people died this June in 205 shootings, which represents an increase in shootings of 130% compared to the same month last year.
