Oleiros: Writers Eduardo Galeano and Marcos Ana will have their own streets in Mera | Radio Coruña

Writers Marcos Ana and Eduardo Galeano will have their own streets in Mera. The Oleiros council will name these two authors, who fought to improve society, in a new urbanization to be built between Pinar do Río and Lamalonga.

Marcos Ana He was an anti-Franco poet and fighter who spent 23 years of his life in prison for defending democracy during the Franco regime. He was one of the longest serving prisoners in Franco’s prisons.

Uruguayan writer and journalist Eduardo Galeano Through his works, he portrayed the blots and ghosts of contemporary society at the time.

Both authors were already honored by the Oleiros Council in 2003 and 2006 at the A Fábrica cultural center.
